Culpeper History Forum Featuring Dr. John Ragosta Culpeper County Library November 14, 2009 3 p.m. | The Society for the Preservation of Culpeper History invites you to attend a lecture by John Ragosta, J.D., Ph.D., University of Virginia, on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at three o’clock in the afternoon at the Culpeper County Library in the community meeting room. Dr. Ragosta is the author of the forthcoming book, Wellspring of Liberty: How Virginia’s Religious Dissenters Helped Win the American Revolution and Religious Liberty. His lecture will focus on early Culpeper churches from this perspective. Dr. Ragosta is a resident of Culpeper County. He practiced law in Washington, D. C., for twenty years before returning to the University of Virginia for his Ph.D. in history. He has published extensively in both legal and historical journals in the areas of early American history, constitutional law and international relations. He has taught in the George Washington University School of Law, the University of Virginia School of Law, the University of Virginia Department of History, and Randolph College. He has been a Fellow of the International Center for Jefferson Studies at Monticello. Following the lecture, refreshments will be served and there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions of Dr. Ragosta and to discuss ideas for future lectures and other activities to preserve and promote Culpeper history. |
